What do you ride?

How long have you been riding?
Since I was a kid. That dropped off after I got a car. Pretty much ditched the car now, and have been seriously riding again since April ‘09.
Why do you ride fixed?
Simplicity.
How’d you get introduced to fixed riding?
A buddy in MPLS first showed me, then I got to know fixed riders in Dallas when I was in the market for a bike. For commuting and getting around town, it was a no-brainer.
Why do you wanna go to Austin?
Personal challenge. Group rides are fun. Distance is satisfying.
Do you have any distance riding experience?
None.
How are you preparing for the ride?
Lots of food, 30-45 miles 5 times a week, going to start doing 60+ mile rides on the weekends.
Where’s your favorite place in town to go ride? In the world?
Oak Cliff is great for hills. Downtown is always fun, especially with traffic. Uptown is fun to mash through. Highland Park has the best streets around.
What’s the stupidest/most embarrassing thing you’ve done on your bike?
Fell on Hall, skidded on my head/did a headspin, won the breakdancing competition. Still don’t know exactly what happened. Front brake?
